Dimmer the Owl does not collect, store or sell any personal data. No account, no analytics, no tracking, no ads.
Your settings (brightness levels, timers, shortcuts and language) are saved locally in macOS preferences and never leave your Mac. Dimmer reads which apps are currently preventing sleep only to show them to you; that list is not sent anywhere.
Once a day, Dimmer checks app.bejinji.com for a newer version using the open-source Sparkle framework. That request includes the app version and, like any web request, your IP address. We use it only to deliver updates. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
If you choose to buy Dimmer a coffee, the payment is handled entirely by Buy Me a Coffee and its payment partners under their own privacy policies. We never see your card details.
